I painted my bed that I got from Ikea. My favorite color is teal… so my bed is teal! (this was over a year ago)

Later I had more projects… I painted the wall grey all by myself! With the help of my lovely friends I did my film strip <3

After that came my masterpiece… my teal branchless tree!

Then I got my desk @ Ikea and I put it together with Omar. I also got my dresser from there and I put it together with Steph

Then I got my chandelier ( i love it! )

After that came the Curtains which I got from Target on sale! ($11) & I put them up all by myself.

Last but not least came my string lights!

To this point I can pretty much say that I love my room… Being so busy with life = school + work. It can get so hectic… So it is nice that at the end of the day I get to relax and spend time with God in my room

Some new things with my life are that I am somewhat working… some days I work for a lady as her assistant. Even though it isn’t a stable job; I’m thankful for it.

I also must add that I now have a boyfriend…

His name is Omar… he is quite amazing… He is my gentle giant.

I say this because the man is 6′ tall… but so gentle with me.

He is very caring and affectionate… most importantly… he is a Christ loving Christian man.

I am happy… God has blessed me so much… I can’t help it but to acknowledge the fact that I don’t deserve any of this… which makes me appreciate everything that much more.

I am so thankful for my family and my friends.

Also for my church family & Prc.

This years has had its ups and downs. But without its downs; I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to appreciate the ups as much as I do

That’s not the only reason why I know that my friends know that “Mi casa es tu casa”. They freely take their shoes off… and they open the fridge whenever they want to. The even make themselves sandwiches. (I know it may sound like I’m a bad hostess BUT they do it because they feel really @ home… so maybe I’m doing a gopd job as hosting… I am not sure. ) I just love the fact that we just hang out spontaneously. When everyone says “let’s hang out” that translates into… let’s go to kat’s house!

I love my friends (brothers & sisters in Christ) – We really are a family. I am extremely thankful to God for each and every one of them.

Afterwards we decided to watch a movie… and we knew that we just had to pick a scary movie… due to Joselyn’s fear. So we picked the haunting in Connecticut and i will confess that I was the first one to jump & scream! That movie was super scary and I had a hard time sleeping that night.

At the end we decided to pray for each other… for our struggles. & I think that that night we somehow all bonded with each other.

To end the night Joselyn was dying to go to the bathroom but she refused due to the fact that she was terrified because of the movie. So when she finally went we decided to play a little prank on her! Her reaction was HILARIOUS!

I remember three years ago when Casey was still in her mommy’s belly. Now she is about to turn 3! It’s insane. I love this little girl soooo much. She has pretty much stolen my heart. Ever since she was little I would take care of her ; we would go to the park, watch eebee & yo gabba gabba… – Thanks to her I know just about every children’s’ song & show out there!

I remember when she started to eat solid food, or when she started to walk & talk. This has been the closest “mommy training” for me.

I just thank God for her life; For allowing me to watch her grow in from of my eyes.

Like mother, like daughter; a phrase that many of us have heard. Well I am living it. My mother and I are so alike; it can be scary at times. I love my father to death, but my mother is the one I go to when I have a problem. She is more than just my mother, she is my best friend. But being so much alike is not a great thing all the time. We bud heads, but we always seem to work things out.

Her name is Ruth and she is the woman I call mother. She is 44 years old, but age is nothing but a number. She looks as beautiful as she did 20 years back. She is so caring and loving of her family and of others too. She shows me that every time she says and shows that she would give up her life, her food, and everything in her power just so that my sister and I are well. My mother is also very friendly. Her phone does not stop ringing and God forbid she will forget her gadget at home. Not being able to communicate with her girlfriends is not an option. But like everyone else she has her flaws. The one that I see the most is how most of the times she is very patient, but when she get angry… you better get out of her way. Another thing is how she is stubborn; it must be a family disease. She enjoys cooking and going to church.

On the other hand we have me. My name is Katherine and I am 18 years old. I am fun and loving. I enjoy helping people and I tend to think of others before I think of myself. I am very friendly, although selective of my friends. I like to hang out with my friends and my family. But like my mother, I have my flaws too. I am infected with the family disease, stubbornness. It’s my way or the highway. Another thing is that most of the time I am very patient, but there are certain things that push my buttons to the limit. I, like my mother, enjoy going to church very much.

As you can see, my mother and I are very much like each other. We share many of our likes and dislikes. That may have something to do with the fact that we share the same birthday. I was her present when she turned 24. It doesn’t come to a surprise to us when we are walking down the street and people as us if we are sisters. That is how much I resemble her. Like two drops of water, like mother… like daughter.
